The Greater Albuquerque Association of REALTORS® (GAAR), The Voice for Real Estate® in the Greater Albuquerque Area, is the largest local professional trade association in Central New Mexico with over 4,300 members pledged to a strict Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice. The Southwest Multiple Listing Service, Inc. (SWMLS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Greater Albuquerque Association of REALTORS® dedicated to providing a reliable, cooperative, credible real estate database of listing and sales information using current technology. GAAR is also part of America's largest trade association, the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®, representing over one million members involved in all aspects of residential and commercial real estate.

To enhance the professional ability, conduct, and image of GAAR's members and to be an advocate for the public's real estate property rights and interests.
History:
Established in 1921 as the Real Estate Board of Albuquerque, GAAR today is recognized as the leading provider of real estate information services, data, and education in New Mexico

GAAR's goal is to support the healthy growth of the real estate market and to help consumers make more informed real estate decisions. Through our advocacy efforts and promotion of the industry, we will continue to redefine and advance organized real estate in the areas we serve. The voice of the REALTOR® organization is clear and powerful, speaking out on issues that affect and shape the real estate industry- locally, statewide, and nationally. Membership in GAAR demonstrates a real estate professional's commitment to maintaining the highest ethical and professional standards.
Structure:
GAAR is comprised of members who volunteer their time and talents to serve on boards, committees and task forces which address the evolving issues we face as REALTORS®. Together with its experienced, professional staff, GAAR is committed to helping our members maximize performance and build success. The Greater Albuquerque Association of REALTORS® promotes the highest level of integrity, professionalism and fair business practices among our members. The Association also welcomes a large number of Affiliate members, made up of related businesses from title companies, mortgage companies, financial institutions, home warranty and inspection companies to photographers, printers, pool services, pest control and roofing companies.
The term REALTOR®:
Not all real estate licensees are REALTORS®. The term REALTOR® is a registered collective membership mark that identifies a real estate professional who is a member of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® and subscribes to its strict Code of Ethics.
